PHILADELPHIA, PA (January 14, 2010) – InstaMed announced today the release of InstaMed Connect, the healthcare industry’s first fully integrated and open Application Programming Interface (API) enabling healthcare systems of all kinds to integrate with InstaMed’s industry leading platform and network. There are currently over 40 vendors and more than 550 healthcare provider practices and hospital accounts using InstaMed Connect, which was previously known as InstaMed Transaction Services and has been innovated and developed over the past four years.

InstaMed Connect is an API that integrates any patient accounting system, website, kiosk or point of service system directly into the InstaMed Platform to give healthcare providers access to real-time and batch healthcare transactions and real-time payment transactions. Systems that integrate with InstaMed Connect enable users to submit and track all of these transactions on a single system, eliminating the need for multiple systems and websites. InstaMed Connect expands a system’s product capabilities to give users a more complete transaction solution.

Systems that integrate with InstaMed Connect enable users to verify a patient’s insurance coverage and check claim status in real-time and batch modes. These systems also support electronic remittance advice for automated posting and real-time claims submission with coding and eligibility edits to ensure cleaner claims and fewer rejections. InstaMed Connect delivers the structure and security necessary to process all forms of payment, including all credit, debit, gift and healthcare card transactions. Users can save patient payment plans securely for future payments. InstaMed Connect also supports Offline Debit, Check 21, ACH and Remote Deposit. All of the information processed on InstaMed is protected and secured at the highest levels of compliance for both healthcare and payment data. InstaMed also helps system integrators with PCI compliance before any transactions go live as part of the InstaMed Connect certification process.

There are several easy and flexible ways for system integrators to use InstaMed Connect, including state of the art web services, XML and EDI. InstaMed Connect includes a complete set of application programming interfaces, documentation, sample code and access to test and production environments. Integrating with InstaMed’s platform and network provides connectivity to a large and secure network of over 440 payers for Eligibility, over 2,800 payers for Claims, over 280 payers for Remittance and over 170 payers for Claim Status.
